Being a recruiter isn’t easy, we all know that, but to then launch your own agency and build it to the point where it’s successful is an added challenge on top. The general consensus is that you should first cut your teeth ‘on the tools’ before taking that leap, so you know what you’re doing and can quickly bring in the business you need to survive…well that’s what I’ve always thought anyway. But there are people out there who are doing things differently, who are setting up their own agency without the background knowledge and experience of working at that consultant level. We forget that not everyone that runs a successful business operates on the ‘front line’, and that an agency can successfully grow with someone running it behind the scenes. ⭐ Running an agency without previous recruitment experience does bring its challenges. ⭐ Having billers is crucial, but you also need people who bring financial skills to the table. ⭐ The importance of numbers needs to be understood at all levels of the agency.
